Framing Day 2

Here you can see the Hardy Frames. These provide protection during an earthquake. Now you see what those huge bolts in the foundation were for (picture 3).

Also you can see the frame out for the fireplace in the west wall.

Framing Has Started

The exterminator got rid of the bees - we hope! Framing has started - we should see a lot of rapid progress from here.

The Bees have invaded!


Saturday May 22. A swarm of bees decided to start to build a hive in the exposed walls. Had to have the exterminator come in to kill them. A couple of the contractors were stung on Friday when they were pouring the foundation

Final Prep Before Pouring Foundation

Foundation framing is almost done. Conduit for floor outlets and low voltage wiring is in place. Notice the large bolts to hold the Hardy Wall frames.
Concrete should be poured on Wednesday 5/19.

Demolition is Finished




Now they are ready to frame the foundation.




That header needs to be raised up about 12 inches.
